The grade four students created digital puppet shows. Here are a three examples:
The grade 5 had two special visitors today! Mme Chantal Soucy - she works at the Board office as the French Consultant - and M. Christian Roy (not related to me!) a teacher from the Pembroke School Board -came to see us in action! They watched us doing "impro claque" - this is when you have a few people inside the circle doing an improv. When a member in the circle gets an idea because of a movement they saw, they clap their hands. The actors then freeze in place. The person who clapped removes one or more members by taping on their shoulder and continues the improv with their new ideas. To be able to do this kind of improv you need a few things: creativity, spontaneity, confidence in your language skills (not a must be helps) and confidence in your classmates. After showing off our skills, we did some "impro comparé". In this type of improv, you participate in a group and are given a topic and a time. You then have 1 min. to discuss ideas - you must come up with setting, characters, problem and solution. Teams take turns showing what they have come up with. In a real match - a winner would be declared. Because we are just starting with this of improv - no winner was declared - it was fun nonetheless. Both Mme Soucy and M. Roy were impressed with our skills! How exciting! |
