Congratulations to the four recipients for this term! Mikayla and Harrison in grade 5 and Dana and Erika in grade 4! Way to go! During our assembly, we also welcomed Dr. Chandra to hand him a donation. We also gave out certificates for participation in sporting events and had a special presentation in support of bully prevention week. The grade 5 prepared a short video to support bully prevention week. It turned out beautifully! See for yourself! (We had a few students away the day we took the pictures - hence why they are not seen in the video.) The students also saw a skit performed by students on the same topic. The expectations we are working on for next term are:
CGE4e - A Self-Directed, Responsible, Life Long Learner who sets appropriate goals and priorities in school, work and personal life Student Friendly Language – a student who always does their best; sets goals and priorities; reaches their dreams and CGE3c – A Reflective and Creative Thinker who thinks reflectively and creatively to evaluate situations and solve problems Student Friendly Language – a student who has thoughts and opinions that matter, makes good choices, has hope for the future, solves problems, knows we are all equal and special The assembly will be in February. Are you wondering what French TV show you could watch? Here's a suggestion! Un air de famille - a singing competition between families. It plays on Thur. at 8pm. Get a taste here.
Well, our monster didn't win the friendly competition but the students had fun and learned a lot from this experience. This is what some of the students said about the Monster project: Kelsey: I liked the monster project because the class worked together -everyone had a job to do and did it well. Owen: I liked this project because I got to do a cool part (the arm). It was fun making it. I was able to practice collaboration skills. Abby: I liked the monster project because it was fun. It was fun working with others from around the world and reading their descriptions of the various parts. I think we did this project to learn collaboration skills. I would love to do it again. Celia: It was a great experience. It taught me to be patient when working in a group. The grade 4 students have been learning a song called Ah les crocodiles. You can listen to them singing here: Grade 4 singing
Have a look at out Success Criteria page to see the charts we create as a class. Please review them at home! I will be adding more as we build them.
Most students have created their eportfolio - if it's not done it was due today... plus they had a block to work on them today. They are looking great! I can't wait to start seeing work and reflections!
